According to Kahn & Yardley, China is choking on its own accomplishment and although her economy is posting double-digit growth rates succession, the growth derives from a wobbling expansion of heavy urbanization and industry, which requires massive energy inputs, of which it obtains almost all from coal, which is the most readily available and dirtiest source. Acid rain involves the acidification of rain by airborne acids.
